Welcome to Class - Transfiguration Midterms

Welcome

Hello everyone! Welcome back to Transfiguration! Today is a special day, as your Midterms shall be taken today.  I hope you have studied well. Today, I will teach you the Matchstick to Needle spell before your midterms occur. So, let us begin.

Match to Needle

The Match:

The Match is mainly used to light fire in places. The matchsticks contain potassium chlorate, sulfur, starch and glue which helps generate fire by rubbing it hard to the box. The place on the matchbox where the matchbox is rubbed, which is spotted, and it contains red phosphorus, powdered glass and glue. Check here and here for images.

The main matches are made out of wooden sticks or paper. Some can only be ignited on a special paper with the power of frictional heat. There are two types of matches, namely safety matches and strike anywhere matches.

Strike Anywhere Matches can be rubbed on any frictional surface to light them, while Safety Matches are only lit on a special paper. The match we shall be using today is the Safety Match. When you drop it, it gives a soft sound. It's tip tastes like a bit mixture of too much rock salt, apple cider vinegar and it's stick tastes like wood.

The Needle

Needle : The needle is a sharp, long and slender tool used for sewing clothes. Its tip is very sharp and it's enough to give you a sharp cut. In olden times, needle was made out of teak wood or bones, but now, stainless steel is processed in the factories. The needle's tip is usually very sharp. It makes a soft noise when it is dropped. Don't try to taste it, as the needle may prick you, but if you will, it will give a metallic taste. Check out here for the image.

The Spell Invention

It was invented by a German scientist, who's name is Gunter Kyle. His wife was a tailor, and Gunter was conducting research on matchsticks and their components, and there were many matchsticks at home, his wife often needed new needles to sew clothes. Tired, thus, Gunter created this spell.
