Transfiguration Lesson 1 Year 1 : Introduction to Transfiguration

Professor Sterling is standing, awaiting the arrival of her students. They come in, and make a great deal of noise, which makes the Professor stand up, and exclaim with eve.

Introduction and Plans

I am Professor Sterling, your Headmistress, and I am sure you have certainly seen/communicated with me before. Before Mr.Filch comes here for any reason, let us close the door and begin with the class.

This course, as informed, will be running for 7 years like all your classes. There will be 9 lessons per year. You will always bring sufficient supply of paper, your Quills and your wand for all your classes. You will have two examinations in Lesson 5 and Lesson 9, each which will test your knowledge, and cheating will not be permitted, in any of the tests.

In order to pass the course, you must at least achieve an A, which is 70 percent. If you get a lower grade than an A, which is >70, you have to retake the whole course.

Classroom Rules

Speaking of cheating, I would now like you to be familiar to the Classroom Rules.

No Plagiarism/Cheating

Plagiarism/Cheating is forbidden inside this classroom, and so it is in the school, and it is in the world too. They both include searching answers online, looking from the lessons, and copy-pasting from the lessons. As Hogwarts students, I expect you to be completely honest with me and other Hogwarts Members.

Be Respectful

We all have real lives here, so please be tolerant of me, Prefects, and other fellow students, and even respect them.

Note-Taking

While Note-Taking is a point which is crucial to your success, and taking notes in Transfiguration Class helps you grasp theories and formulas, which will be from your second year. However, this is optional, but recommended for all your Hogwarts Classes.

What is Transfiguration?

Now, we are discussing the term 'Transfiguration'. What does it exactly mean? Transfiguration is a type of magic which changes the alteration of an object. Transfiguration and Charms are often confused, but, no, they are totally different! Charms deal with causing a proper reaction, such as liting wands, and an example for Transfiguration is changing Fork to a Quill.

I have to introduce you to Five Major Senses of Transfiguration ;

  1. Smell - Nose
  2. Touch - Skin
  3. Sound - Ears
  4. Sight - Eyes
  5. Taste - Mouth

All of the sense organs are vital to the successful casting of a Transfiguration Spell.

Now, how is a Transfiguration possibly dangerous? Transfiguration is very dangerous, as you could end up mixing the wrong molecules with the wrong amount of the opposite molecule, and miss a part, with incomplete sense information or incomplete spell components attention. For example, you could transfigure half a Dog, and cause it to be really still due to a missing part!

Oh, now, looking at the clock, I should let you off for today. See you next week! I have only given you a Mandatory Quiz, as you have already introduced yourselves to me.
