1 - Introduction and Class Procedures
You are welcome to my Classroom! I even teach Astronomy, so no wonder, you might have met me before, or I am the Slytherin Head of House too, so you might have seen me in the Dorms, or in the Great Hall too. Well, let us start with the class, anyways.
I won't bump you with loads of information today, of course, but there will be some basic information about the Class here.
This class will be on for 7 Years. I will be teaching all those seven years to you. There will be one or more assignments at the end of each lesson, either Mandatory or Optional. There are some essays and some quizzes. Most quizzes will be mandatory, but for Year 1, most of the essays are optional, but some might be mandatory, so just don't cut the sight off the moment you see an essay. There will be two examinations in Lesson 5 and Lesson 10. This Quiz Grading Rubric will be followed for all classes ;
Outstanding(O) : 90 to 100%
Exceeds Expectations(E) : 80 to 90%
Acceptable(A) : 70 to 80%
Poor(P) : 60 to 70%
Dreadful(D) : 50 to 60%
Troll(T) : 0 to 50%
If you get less than an A, then you have failed the assignment/course and you need to resubmit/retake the assignment/course.
There are even certain symbols made for your essay ;
NES - Non Native English Speakers
LD - Learning Disability
PD - Physical Disability
Please do not abuse them, as for all the above options, Spelling and Grammar would not be marked off, and for LDs, 10% leeway on the Word Count. They must be put at the top of the Essay/Quiz.
Assignments must always be submitted in English, no matter what the case. You might use Google Translate or any other translate website to translate the lessons, assignments, questions and essay submissions.
So, now, there are certain class rules which should be followed at all times.
1. No Cheating/Plagiarism
Cheating/Plagiarism will be banned on all the assignments for all your courses. It would lead to a '0' on the assignment, and 5 House Points loss, and a detention with the Head of House. It includes looking up answers online, looking at the lessons and your notes.
2. Be Respectful at all times
You must show respect to Prefects, me ;The Professor and your fellow peers, no matter the caste, blood status, religion or practises.
3. Taking Notes
Taking Notes in Defence Against the Dark Arts is a necessary procedure, and will help you advance in classes, but taking notes is not Mandatory, and you don't have to show them to me, they are just for your own progress through the course.

2 - Defence Against the Dark Arts
Dark Arts, indeed. It has been always present since magic has begun into the world. The magic ; which is used to Harm, Kill and Torture others. People think that people who practise Dark Arts are the consumer, but it's the total opposite! People who fall into the Dark Arts are the preys of Dark Arts. People who are lonely, they don't have their parents, nor any family members, or they are busy in their own work ; get into the desire for more power ; which brings you to Dark Arts. Lord Voldemort aka Tom Marvalo Riddle was one such popular wizard, defeated by Harry Potter. In my experience, I never saw Harry Potter doing all that, as I was born in Japan. Dark Arts ; now, is divided into 4 Types; Dark Potions, Dark Artefacts and Objects, Dark Spells and Dark Creatures.
Oh, dears, it’s time to end the session. See all of you next lesson! I'll put you up with a Quiz only for today, knowing that you must be tired writing essays, and besides, you already introduced yourselves to me!
